If you ask me, Forbe's ranking system is a little ridiculous (Angela Merkel beats Oprah Winfrey!) but here's their take on who [the world's most powerful women](http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/11/06women%5FThe-100-Most-Powerful-Women%5FRank.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) are. Perhaps we might find more [Bad Democracy](../../../bad%5Fdemocracy/) candidates here. I'm happy to see Tom Burgis addressing the gender imbalance this month!
