# Uh, Ah! Chavez no se va...

Neither supporters nor critics of Chavez will be surprised to hear he's considering a strategy for remaining in power longer than current legal limits allow. Now he even said so on TV. From [Reuters](http://today.reuters.com/News/newsArticle.aspx?type=worldNews&storyID=2006-02-19T215921Z%5F01%5FN19185552%5FRTRUKOC%5F0%5FUS-VENEZUELA-CHAVEZ.xml&ref=opendemocracy.net): "I might sign a decree calling for a popular referendum -- do you agree that Chavez should run for a third term in 2013?" Chavez said during his weekly Sunday broadcast. "It's not a firm decision, it's something I'm thinking about."
