openDemocracy has been [shorlisted](http://www.newstatesman.com/nma/nma2005/nma2005shortlist.php?ref=opendemocracy.net) for the New Statesman New Media Awards in the category of "Contribution to civic society". Other candidates are [My Society](http://mysociety.org/?ref=opendemocracy.net) super star [Not Apathetic](http://www.notapathetic.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net), [Public Whip](http://www.publicwhip.org.uk/?ref=opendemocracy.net), and [TheyWorkForYou](http://www.theyworkforyou.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net). Congratulations to the brilliant folks behind all three projects. Losing to them wouldn't hurt so much. Losing to [Net House Prices](http://www.nethouseprices.com/?ref=opendemocracy.net) (cool site, but how on earth did they make that category?) would.
