A.K.M. Maksud has been involved in social development programmes and social research for nearly 30 years with the NGO Grambangla Unnayan Committee. Currently Maksud is working as the Technical Expert with the Child Labour Action Research Programme (CLARISSA) led by the Institute of Development Studies. Maksud obtained his bachelor of law degree from the University of London and obtained a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Dhaka. He has produced 55 research works and led in implementing 29 social development projects. Maksud is the author and co-author of six research articles published in reputed journals. Maksud was awarded Ashoka Fellowship in 2006.
