Dr Alastair Michael Smith's work focuses on a broad range of issues including international trade and livelihoods. Previously a Research Fellow at the School of Planning and Geography, Cardiff University, UK, Alastair currently works as an independent consultant based in Colombia, and as a Research Associate for the Global Drug Policy Observatory, Swansea University UK. Alastair is also the Founding Director of Fairness UK, an international knowledge exchange network focused on trade justice, and a member of the Board of Directors at Fair Trade Wales.
