Andrew Whitehead was the editor of BBC World Service News for six years to March 2015, and was also a BBC Delhi correspondent, a radio news presenter and an award-winning documentary maker in a BBC career stretching over thirty-five years. He has a PhD in history and is an honorary professor at the University of Nottingham.
