Awino Okech has been involved in social justice work in East Africa, the Great Lakes region and South Africa over the last twelve years, focusing on women’s rights in conflict and post conflict societies, security sector governance and governance more broadly. She joined the Centre for Gender Studies at SOAS, London University, as a lecturer in September 2016.
