Aziz A. Hakimi is Associated Senior Researcher at Chr. Michelsen Institute in Bergen. A political sociologist, he mainly writes about Afghanistan, war and politics, counterinsurgency, paramilitary groups, gender, marriage and migration. In his most recent publication which appeared in the journal History and Anthropology he examines the migratory and marital strategies of Afghan migrant workers in Istanbul, Turkey.
