Eric Allina is Associate Professor in the Department of History, University of Ottawa. His research examines histories of labor and the state in southern Africa, especially colonial and independence-era Mozambique. He is author of Slavery by Any Other Name: African Life under Company Rule in Colonial Mozambique.
