Gerard Libaridian is an Armenian scholar and writer, He was, for eleven years, Alex Manoogian Professor of Modern Armenian History at the University of Michigan, until his retirement in 2012. In the early 1990s he was leading adviser to Armenia's president. Among his books is Modern Armenia: People, Nation, State (Transaction, 2004). He has written a foreword to Ayse Gul Altinay & Fethiye Cetin, The Grandchildren: The Hidden Legacy of 'Lost' Armenians in Turkey (Transaction, 2014)
