Gülistan Gürbey is Adjunct Professor at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science, Freie Universität Berlin. Her work focuses on peace and conflict studies, de facto states, international protection of minorities, Middle East politics, and especially Turkey, Kurds and Kurdistan as well as Cyprus. She is the author of several books and articles on Kurdish politics, Turkish domestic and foreign policy, and the Cyprus conflict, among others “Between state and non-state.
