Harriet Washington is a Shearing Fellow at the university of Nevada’s Black Mountain Institute whose work as a medical writer and ethicist focuses upon the intersection of medicine, history, ethics and culture. She is the author of, among other things, "Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present".
