Dr Ian R Lamond is a senior lecturer in event studies at Leeds Beckett University. His principle research interests are around events of dissent, activism and civil disobedience. He has published on issues of human rights and LGBT+ rights. He is particularly interested in the eventisation of the political and the emergence of what he calls a democracy of the spectacle.
