Jaak Erik Laja is a graduate student in the programme of European Studies in Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He is currently working at the Estonian Government Office as a liaison officer for the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. His interests include European integration theories and concepts, regional security, ethno-linguistic issues, nationalism and imperialism, memory politics, political philosophy, and conflict resolution.
