Joe Shaffner is senior communications specialist at the International Center for Research on Women, a nonprofit with headquarters in Washington, DC that works to advance gender equity and inclusion, as well as alleviate poverty and empower women, girls and marginalised people worldwide. Joe previously served in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan and Suriname, working with communities to improve health outcomes, grow businesses and bridge educational divides. He is a proud father of two children who make him laugh and inspire him every day.
