Juan Garces, a Spanish lawyer, was advisor to Salvador Allende, president of Chile from 1970-73, and later wrote a book, Allende and the Chilean Experience (1976). For many years he worked to bring Allende's successor, General Pinochet, under the rubric of international justice.
