Kate Alexander, formerly Peter Alexander, is Director of the Centre for Social Change at the University of Johannesburg, where she holds the South Research Chair in Social Change. She writes on protests and comparative labour history, and has authored a series of short articles on Covid-19 in South Africa for the Daily Maverick. Her most recent book is Making Sense of Mining History (2020, co-edited by Stefan Berger).
