Khaled Abou El Fadl is the Omar and Azmeralda Alfi Distinguished Professor of Law at the UCLA School of Law where he teaches political asylum and refugee law; political crimes; Islamic jurisprudence; Muslims, race and law; and the trafficking of human beings: law and policy. He is the Founder of The Usuli Institute, an Islamic think tank for countering extremism and ignorance.
