Dr Kirsteen Paton is a lecturer in sociology at the University of Leeds, focusing on gentrification, class and local resistance movements. Growing up on Scotland’s west coast, her past research into the gentrification of Partick, Glasgow, took into account complex working-class experiences of deindustrialisation and neoliberalism. Her latest book is Gentrification: A Working Class Perspective.
