Laura van Waas is a Co-Director of the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion, a civil society organization dedicated to protecting the right to a nationality (www.institutesi.org). On 9 July 2020, the Institute is co-hosting a side-event to the UN Virtual Counter Terrorism Week on ‘Citizenship stripping, expulsion and statelessness: have counter terrorism measures gone too far?’ with the UN Special Rapporteur on Counter Terrorism and Human Rights. This event forms part of a Year of Action Against Citizenship Stripping.
