Lionel Wee

Lionel Wee is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English Language & Literature at the National University of Singapore. His books include Language Policy and Modernity in Southeast Asia (with Antonio Rappa) (Springer 2006), Language Without Rights (Oxford University Press 2011) and Markets of English: Linguistic capital and language policy in a globalizing world (with Joseph Park) (Routledge, to appear). His articles have appeared in Applied Linguistics, Journal of Multilingual & Multicultural Development, Journal of Sociolinguistics, Language Policy, Language in Society, and World Englishes. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Sociolinguistics, and sits on the editorial boards of Applied Linguistics and English World-Wide.
