Marc Owen Jones is a PhD candidate at Durham University, where he is studying the contemporary and historical use of repression in Bahrain. He writes a regular blog, is a member of Bahrain Watch, and has spent much of his life in the Middle East, including Bahrain, Sudan and Syria.
