Maria do Mar Pereira is a Lecturer in Gender Studies and Sociology at the University of Leeds. She has a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and has published widely on a range of topics, including the epistemic status and the institutionalisation of women's and gender studies, the negotiation of gender and sexuality among young people in schools, and current transformations in higher education.
