Maria Repnikova is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvania. She has written for the Wall Street Journal and Foreign Policy. Her current projects examine the practice of media oversight in China, and the political training of Chinese journalists. Repnikova has spent a year on the China-Russia border as a Fulbright Scholar, and held a fellowship from the Overseas Press Club at Reuters, Beijing.
