Mark Oliver was the BBC’s first head of strategy from 1989 to 1995 and youngest ever member of senior management. He has advised the BBC, Government and/or regulators on the last three Charter Reviews and the last seven licence fee settlements.
He is Founder, currently Chairman, of one of Europe’s leading independent advisers to the media, entertainment and sports sectors. With others he is establishing a new not-for-profit web venture aimed at fighting the “bias against understanding” in the internet age. He is also writing a book about Silicon Valley versus Hollywood.
