Markus Kressler is the Co-Founder of Kiron Open Higher Education, a blended-learning education institute for refugees. Prior to this, he built the first digital German volunteer platform Alltagsheld.org. During his studies in psychology at the University of Mannheim, he concentrated on social-entrepreneurial issues, as well as digital approaches in the field of migration. Markus Kressler worked in strategic consultancy and created a project for under-aged homeless people. The psychosocial counseling for refugees brought him to found Kiron in 2015 together with Vincent Zimmer.
