Michael Burawoy is Full Professor of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley. He was the former president of the International Sociological Association and is the editor of Global Dialogue. He has been a participant observer of industrial workplaces in four countries: Zambia, United States, Hungary and Russia. Author of several books, he advocates for a public sociology.
