Mo Li

Mo Li (the pen name of Mo Lihua) is a Chinese writer-in-exile. She graduated from the Chinese department of Beijing Normal University, and taught at Shaoyang Teachers' College in Hunan province until 1989. She was imprisoned for nearly three years after the massacre on 4 June 1989 in Beijing for her participation in the demonstrations. She now lives in Sundsvall, Sweden, where she writes and works as a Chinese-language teacher. Her books include Tibet is Over the Mountain (Taipei, 2007) and A Walk Through the Woods of Sweden (Taipei, 2008), and her essays are published in Open Magazine (Kaifang, Hong Kong), Democratic China (Mingzhu Zhongguo, New York) and Beijing Spring (Beijing Zhichun, New York)
