Naila Kabeer is Professor of Development Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. She has been engaged in teaching, researching and policy advocacy in the field of gender and development for over 25 years. She is the author of Reversed Realities: gender hierarchies in development thought (Verso, 1994) and The Power to Choose: Bangladeshi women and labour market decisions in London and Dhaka (Verso, 2000).
