Nicholas Jones was a BBC correspondent for 30 years. He has chronicled New Labour’s addiction to spin and media manipulation in a series of books, including Soundbites and Spin Doctors (1995), Sultans of Spin (1999) and Trading Information: Leaks, Lies and Tip-offs (2006). He is currently working on a book charting David Cameron’s relationship with the news media.
