Pavel K. Baev is research director and a professor at the Peace Research Institute, Oslo. He is also a senior non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC and a senior associate research fellow at the Institut Français des Relations Internationales in Paris. He has published extensively in international journals and has a weekly column in the Eurasia Daily Monitor . His current research interests include Russian energy and military policy, conflict transformation in the Caucasus, and Russian policy in the Arctic.
