Richard L. Wood is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of New Mexico and the Director of the Southwest Institute on Religion and Civil Society. Wood’s recent work on religion and civil society appears in the American Sociological Review, and has been covered in the Washington Post and New York Magazine, among others.
