Sakina Datoo started her journalism career as a TV reporter in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, becoming chief editor of weekly national newspaper The Express. She was the founder editor of The Sunday Citizen, steering it to become the country’s leading English-language Sunday paper by specialising in investigative reporting, especially on the mining industry. In the UK, Sakina has worked as a producer for various media outlets, and now runs her own media company producing TV shows and documentaries. She is a recipient of the CNN African Journalist of the Year Award. She is also a Just Treatment Patient Leader.
