Sam Raphael is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Kingston University, and co-Director of The Rendition Project. The Rendition Project works closely with a range of NGOs and legal teams, in particular Reprieve, in order to gather, analyse and publish data regarding the global system of rendition, secret detention and torture in the War on Terror. He has published in the fields of counterterrorism and human rights, state violence, arms trade and oil policy, and is co-author of Global Energy Security and American Hegemony (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2010).
