Sayra van den Berg is a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh. Her doctoral thesis examines the relationship between ex-combatants and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in Sierra Leone and focuses on issues of access to, and experiences of, transitional justice and participatory peacebuilding.
