Spyros A. Sofos is a researcher and research coordinator at at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Lund University. Spyros is editor of openDemocracy’s #rethinkingPopulism, and serves on the editorial committee of the “Journal of Contemporary European Studies”. His work focuses on political identities and collective action, and the construction and articulation of “the popular” through politics. His publications include ”Nation and Identity in Contemporary Europe”(Routledge); ”Tormented by History” (Oxford University Press); ”Islam in Europe: Public Spaces and Civic Networks” (Palgrave Macmillan).
