Stewart Wells, President of Canadas National Farmers Union since 2001, was born and raised on a third-generation family farm near Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada. He studied Agricultural Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. Delegate to the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool a farmer-owned grain collection co-operative in the early 1990s, he is currently serving on Canadas Agriculture Trade Negotiations Consultations Group. Stewart and his wife operate a 3,500 acre (1,400 Hectare) organic farm where they grow a wide variety of grains, pulse crops, and oilseeds.
