Susan Evans holds an MA in Chinese from the University of Edinburgh and a postgraduate MA in International Relations from the University of Nottingham, specialising in China’s foreign policy and soft power. She has spent time living in Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Hong Kong and Taiping, a sleepy town in Malaysia. She has analysed trends in Chinese politics, economy and industry for the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London and the Economist Intelligence Unit in Hong Kong. Susan is now a freelance analyst based in Edinburgh.
