
Based in Armenia, Tatev Hovhannisyan is openDemocracy’s Europe and Eurasia editor on our Tracking the Backlash project. She is an investigative journalist with a particular interest in tracking attacks on universal human rights and investigating the funding of anti-gender movements in Europe. In 2022, she won an Emma Goldman Award for innovative research on feminist and inequality issues in Europe – the first time a journalist has won the award.
