Theresa Williamson has a doctorate in City and Regional Planning at the University of Pennsylvania, is an urban planner and executive director of Catalytic Communities (CatComm), a Rio de Janeiro based nonprofit supporting favela communities. She is editor of RioOnWatch.org, a favela community watchdog news site documenting the transformations affecting Rio’s communities in the lead-up to the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.
