Tomas Venclova is a writer, born in Lithuania,
who teaches Slavic Literature at Yale University. In 1977 as a committed member
of the Helsinki Citizens Committee, he was deprived of his Soviet citizenship
and emigrated to the United States.
A conversation with the Lithuanian writer about
being a young artist and activist exiled by the Soviet Authorities during the
Cold War, together with more recent challenges from Putin’s Russia.
