Tristan McConnell is a freelance journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya, where he is a correspondent for The Times and GlobalPost. He has also written for magazines including Esquire, the New Statesman, New York magazine and the Virginia Quarterly Review. He has lived and worked in Africa since 2004.
