Urvashi Vaid is an activist and writer whose work in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) movement spans three decades. She is Senior Fellow at the Center for Gender & Sexuality Law at Columbia Law School, and has held leadership roles at the Arcus Foundation, the Ford Foundation, Gill Foundation, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the American Civil Liberties Union. Her books include Irresistible Revolution: Confronting Race, Class and the Assumptions of LGBT Politics (2012) and Virtual Equality: The Mainstreaming of Gay & Lesbian Liberation (1996).
