Virginia Phiri was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in 1954. She is an Accountant by profession, writes both fiction and non-fiction and is also an African Orchid expert. She has published three books of poetry, Desperate (2002), Destiny (2006) and Highway Queen (2010) and is currently working on a fourth entitled Grey Angels.
