OurNHS was the [first](https://www.opendemocracy.net/ournhs/caroline-molloy/uk-government-to-make-it-easier-to-shut-hospitals-without-full-consultation) media outlet to highlight the issue nationally, of the government's attempt to fast-track future hospital closures with minimal consultation.

The clause - tagged on to the [Care Bill](http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2013-14/care.html?ref=opendemocracy.net) \- has just finished committee stage and in March will go to report stage and 3rd reading in the Commons in March (it has already been through the Lords, so this is the final, key vote).
