# Clegg reiterates convention call

**Jon Bright (London,** [**OK**](http://ourkingdom.opendemocracy.net/?ref=opendemocracy.net)**):** Nick Clegg is [repeating ](http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2008/mar/09/clegg.confspeech?ref=opendemocracy.net)his [previous call](http://ourkingdom.opendemocracy.net/2008/02/11/clegg-calls-for-power-to-england/?ref=opendemocracy.net) for a reform of Britain's political system today, and will apparently describe Labour as "gutless, heartless and incompetent" for how they paid for their inheritance tax cut. He will call for a convention of 100 or so people to debate a reform of Britain' political structure - and wants to propose a £25,000 maximum donation limit. Probably also worth reiterating that at the moment the latest polling still shows a [hung parliament](http://politicalbetting.com/index.php/archives/2008/03/07/tories-move-up-seven-seats-in-a-month/?ref=opendemocracy.net). Would Gordon Brown accept the convention in return for a coalition government with Clegg?
