Just a short introduction to the post that appears immediately below this in OK. It is written by this week's Front Page editor of openDemocracy, Jack DuVall an expert in non-violent protest and how it can achieve its goals. This debate has restarted here with the Milibank occuption of the roof of Tory HQ, covered by[ Guy Aitchison](http://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/guy-aitchison/significance-of-millbank-british-protest-begins), and last night there was a [feminist vigil](//www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/helen-lambert/remember-suffragettes-black-friday-vigil-in-honour-of-direct-action) outside parliament to mark the 100th anniversary of Black Friday. I think it is very important to share experience, realise that these issues have been argued over for more than a century and that there is much to learn from those who have worked on these issues like Jack.
