This week features Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize [winner](http://nobelprize.org/nobel%5Fprizes/peace/laureates/2004/?ref=opendemocracy.net) and environmental activist Professor Wangari Maathai. In 1977 Professor Maathai founded the [Green Belt Movement](http://www.greenbeltmovement.org/?ref=opendemocracy.net), a grass roots non-governmental organisaton which has now planted over 30 million trees across Kenya to prevent soil erosion. Hear Professor Maathai talking about her childhood, her political struggles and her hopes for the future.
