**Jon Bright (London,** [**OK**](http://ourkingdom.opendemocracy.net/?ref=opendemocracy.net)**):** A copy of Nick Inman's entertaining [Politipedia](http://www.politicos.co.uk/books/167166.htm?ref=opendemocracy.net) dropped through our inbox the other day, and seems worth a plug. A reference tome for UK politics, it gives encyclopedia style entries on all things UK and political. I immediately flicked through to the pages on the constitution, which unsurprisingly ref Bagehot more than a few times. "The Queen...must sign her own death-warrant if the two Houses unanimously send it up to her" (which puts work on the citizens convention bill into perspective). What about our electoral system? Under FPTP no party has ever governed with the majority of the votes cast, apparently (since 1945). I'm feeling smarter already. Worth a look.
