# Sign for Tibet now: join greatest ever internet solidarity

**Anthony Barnett (London,** [**OK**](http://ourkingdom.opendemocracy.net/?ref=opendemocracy.net)**)** Just over a week ago Avaaz launched its petition in support of the people and monks of Tibet. We backed it on [openDemocracy](http://www.opendemocracy.net/blog/admin/the%5Favaaz%5Forg%5Ftibet%5Fpetition). Over a million signed in the first seven days, the fastest ever internet protest.
